Mesquite Community Theatre presents Belles, a comedy in two acts and 45 phone calls, written by Mark Dunn and directed by Lois Sheeler.

The title characters are six sisters who grew up in Memphis. Now all but one – Peggy, who is Mama’s caretaker – are scattered across the country in the pursuit of different career and life choices. Peggy attempts to contact her siblings to let them know that Mama has landed in the hospital after having eaten some bad tuna fish. Although Mama will be just fine, the subsequent series of phone calls between the sisters reveals the humor, conflicts and unique bonds that exist between these strong and vividly drawn women.

This show is rated PG.
