Lyric Stage presents the World Premiere of Look Homeward Honky Tonk Angel, a brand new musical comedy featuring the songs of country superstar Larry Gatlin, with Book by Anthony Dodge and Marcia Milgrom Dodge.
“Kiss Me Kate” meets The Grand Ole Opry in this tale of Country music legend Jimmy John Angel’s Reunion Concert with his ex-wife and even bigger star, Dixie Diamond. Jimmy John’s life of unscrupulous trickery – on stage and off – is exposed in this hysterical new musical. The score features over a dozen Larry Gatlin hits including “Houston,” “Sure Feels Like Love” and “All the Gold in California” – plus 5 new songs written expressly for this new musical.
